🔍 Technical principles | EIP-1559 fee mechanism
· What it is: The base fee is burned rather than paid to the validator who produces the block; only the priority fee goes to the validator who includes the transaction.
· How to understand it: The more congested the chain, the more the base fee increases, and the more ETH is burned. Whether ETH supply increases or decreases during that period depends on how much is burned compared with how much is newly issued.
· In practice: If a transaction isn’t time-sensitive, you can set a lower priority fee; raise it appropriately for urgent transactions. Don’t set it excessively high by default.
