Banks and payment providers won't be allowed to offer crypto services this year or next.
The 2022 ban remains in effect: banks can't buy or sell crypto on behalf of customers, and payment apps can't offer a direct way to purchase it either.
What's interesting is that Argentina is already one of Latin America's leading markets for crypto adoption.
There's demand from users, but banks still haven't opened up access, so people continue to participate through exchanges.
In my view, this looks more like a further delay in banks entering the market than a disappearance of demand for crypto.
We'll have to wait at least another two years for banks to offer access.
