🚨No bank would give an employee access to the entire vault just to make payments. But on the XRPL, until Thursday, there was no easy way to avoid that.

Let me try to explain it simply.

Imagine you need the plumber to come into your house while you’re at work. Would you give them the master key—the one that even opens your safe—just to fix a faucet?👈

With Permission Delegation, the XRPL lets you give them a key that only opens the bathroom. Your master key never leaves your pocket 🤓

In practice: your account authorizes another account to perform specific tasks on your behalf, with up to 10 permissions per person.😳

Who is it useful for? Mainly businesses. A company that issues tokens can have one person making payments and another managing authorizations, without anyone having the key to everything. Exactly the kind of separation of duties many businesses need.👌

Heads up: don’t delegate the PaymentBurn permission!! There’s a bug that, in certain cases, could be used to create tokens instead of destroying them.
The fix has been written, but it isn’t active yet: it still needs votes from validators, and then it will have to go through a two-week waiting period.

Would you give another account a key to yours, even if it only opened one door?☺️
