When I first learned MACD, I would jump in as soon as I saw a golden cross or death cross. Later I realized: MACD is calculated from moving averages, so it naturally lags behind. By the time the crossover appears, price has usually already moved some distance, and in choppy markets it can cross back and forth.
For leveraged positions, keep enough margin so that a single wick doesn’t stop you out.
