Chart Notes | $HYPE | Daily Close Above MA50 | MA50 86.0843
First, the definition: “close above” or “fall below” here refers to price crossing a moving average, and it is not the same as a golden cross or a death cross. A golden cross usually means a short-term moving average crosses above a long-term moving average, such as MA50 crossing above MA200; a death cross is the opposite.
Next, how to interpret it: whether trading volume increases when price closes above or falls below a moving average is also often used as a reference. A breakout without volume is more likely to be just a temporary fluctuation.
Several data points confirming one another is more reliable than looking at just one, but even more indicators still cannot provide a definite conclusion.
