#CFTC拟将事件合约纳入掉期监管 Two documents were released Friday night, and hardly anyone took a close look over the weekend.

1/ One rule: Explicitly include “event contracts” in the definition of swaps, bringing them under CFTC oversight.
2/ The other rule: Classify casino-style products as something other than swaps.
3/ The proposed rules are open for public comment, with submissions due within 30 days of publication in the Federal Register.

In plain English: The U.S. wants to settle once and for all whether prediction markets fall under federal or state jurisdiction. Note that these are only proposals and are not yet in effect.

Why it matters to crypto: Prediction markets are a new frontier that both on-chain and regulated platforms are competing to capture. Clear classification could give big money the confidence to enter.

Markets are quiet: $BTC 1h is currently at 83089.75, with Bollinger upper/middle/lower bands at 83195.67/83046.09/82896.52. The range is very tight.
Recent high: 86698.99; low: 80393.56.
If 80393 holds, I’ll keep expecting choppy trading. A 1h close below that and I’m wrong.
CPI is also due Tuesday at 20:30; after this tight range, the market will probably pick a direction.

Do you think bringing prediction markets under regulation is bullish for crypto, or will it siphon money away?
