【ZEC Quantum Resistance】
Everyone says $ZEC is a privacy coin, but this time, the quantum-resistant upgrade is first protecting the part of it that *isn't* private.

According to Decrypt, Zakura, the Zcash node development team, plans to implement hash-based signatures next January. A privacy lookup tool for transparent addresses is also launching this week.

Here’s the counterintuitive part: as of October 9, around 70.4% of ZEC was held in transparent addresses, publicly viewable just like BTC. That’s the part the upgrade is protecting first.

Shielded pools, on the other hand, aren’t covered yet. There’s no separate solution for the “harvest now, decrypt later” risk, and the mainnet activation date hasn’t been set.

The price is taking it calmly: Binance quoted 1,231 at 21:08, after briefly plunging to 1,112 on October 8.

My take: This is a long-term narrative, and on its own, it’s not enough to drive a short-term rally. If ZEC climbs back above 1,300 on strong volume, that would mean the market has started trading this narrative—and I’d be wrong.

If 70% of a privacy coin’s supply is in transparent addresses, do you still consider it a privacy coin?
