Reports from Binance News, Odaily, and ChainCatcher on the same day show that Zcash ($ZEC ) rose 0.23% over the past 24 hours, with its current price at 1231.5 USDT. A 0.23% move reflects the day’s range; the price has barely shifted, offering no indication of direction.
Zakura expects to introduce quantum-resistant signature opcodes in January, initially enabling hash-based signatures for transparent payments. Transparent payments publicly display transaction information, while shielded payments conceal the sender, recipient, and amount. The proposal combines address rotation with private information retrieval: wallets can use a new address after every transaction and reduce public-key exposure with WOTS backup signatures. Vizor launched private queries this week, which can be enabled in settings for testing. For now, it only covers transparent payments, and the opcode activation date has not been confirmed.
Ethereum ($ETH ) researcher Justin Drake has warned that the relevant signatures could be broken in months rather than years; Vitalik Buterin believes it is possible that cryptography could be broken within the next two years. January is the anticipated milestone, while two years is a risk assessment—neither is an accomplished fact.
