That green candle this weekend is a hollow glutinous rice ball

🔻 Market snapshot

BTC closed at 82,988 today and ETH at 2,506. Looks like they’re up, right? But BTC/USDT trading volume on Binance was down to just 616 million USDT, plunging 39.35% from the previous period. ETH came in at 310 million, down 27.69%. Prices bounced back, but volume didn’t—a classic hollow weekend rally.

🔻 Did the money actually move?

At 18:00, large trades by major players showed a net buy-sell difference of +$30.61 million for BTC and +$10.24 million for ETH. The net order-book imbalance was 712 million for BTC and 1.762 billion for ETH. The numbers look good, but those are just limit orders sitting there to prop things up—not real money aggressively buying. Short covering plus order-book support amounts to nobody really adding to their positions. We’ll wait until ETFs reopen on Monday and see how the money flows.

🔻 What I’m doing

If you’re holding a long-term core position, don’t spook yourself. BTC holding above 80,000 over the weekend at least saves face. But don’t put too much faith in this short-term green candle: unless BTC closes back above 83,500, treat it as a rebound; and unless ETH can hold above 2,500, don’t talk about a trend reversal. I’m not chasing tonight. Any rally without volume returning above 80,000 is just a flash in the pan. Adjust your position to a level you can sleep with, and don’t try to catch a sudden wick.
