📊 One-line takeaway: $BTC is biased bullish in the short term but still range-bound on the daily chart, while $ETH is bearish across all time frames and retail traders are excessively bullish—the same market, two different scenarios.

🧭 First, a look at overall market sentiment
The Fear & Greed Index is 61, in Greed territory, down from 64. Greed has eased slightly, suggesting that the urge to chase prices is cooling, though we’re not yet in fear territory. At levels like this, it’s easy to get lured in by a fake move that “looks like a breakout,” so I’ll frame each view below conditionally.

🟠 $BTC: Short-term bullish bias, but the daily chart still needs confirmation
Current price: 83,136.11; 24h: +0.30%; trading volume: 480M USDT. Overall score: +12.0, characterized as range-bound consolidation with weak momentum and moderate volatility; ATR ratio: 2.40%.

1h score: +24.4, bullish bias. RSI is 56.9. MA7 at 83,066.45 is above MA25 at 83,015.03, which is above MA99 at 82,759.88—a textbook bullish alignment. Bollinger %B at 0.84 indicates that price is near the upper band. However, the 1h MACD histogram is -8.9392, showing early signs of slight momentum divergence.

4h score: +22.6, also bullish. RSI is 49.3, right around neutral. The MACD histogram is positive at +143.7437. MA7 at 82,997.63 is above MA25 at 82,774.54, but MA99 at 84,097.66 is still overhead. Bollinger %B is 0.73.

1d score: -5.1, range-bound consolidation. RSI is 52.3, while the MACD histogram remains negative at -547.0747. MA7 at 83,593.30 is slightly below MA25 at 83,639.69. Bollinger %B is only 0.27, placing price in the lower part of the daily channel. MA99 at 73,030.65 marks the long-term base, still some distance from the current price.

Support is at 81,877.57 / 80,393.56, with 62,535.24 as an extreme-case level. Resistance is at 86,586.77 / 87,278.54 / 87,395.67. If the 1h chart holds around the 83,000 moving-average cluster, the 4h bullish structure could continue. If price falls back below 81,877.57, the short-term bullish alignment will likely break down, bringing price back to the lower end of the daily range in search of support.

🔵 $ETH: All three time frames are bearish—a less-than-encouraging signal
Current price: 2,505.21; 24h: +0.29%; trading volume: 444M USDT. Overall score: -29.6, bearish with moderate momentum and moderate volatility; ATR ratio: 3.24%—volatility is higher than for $BTC , leaving less room for error.

1h score: -25.0. RSI is 51.8, and the MACD histogram is -0.9299. MA7 at 2,503.10 is below MA25 at 2,505.77, which is below MA99 at 2,514.03, forming a bearish moving-average alignment. Bollinger %B is 0.42.

4h score: -20.8. RSI is 40.2, already showing weakness. The MACD histogram is positive at +8.2001, but only marginally so. MA7 at 2,505.04 is below MA25 at 2,512.85, while MA99 at 2,646.42 is far overhead. Bollinger %B is 0.57.

1d score: -40.3, strong bearish bias. RSI is 41.1, and the MACD histogram is -35.3999. MA7 at 2,565.12 is below MA25 at 2,644.57, and a 1d EMA death cross has formed. Daily Bollinger %B is only 0.07, with price almost hugging the lower band.

Support is at 2,480.70 / 2,406.11 / 1,863.67. Resistance is at 2,789.00 / 2,807.34 / 2,819.37. If 2,480.70 gives way, the next level to watch is 2,406.11. To reverse the strong bearish daily trend, price would need to reclaim the MA7 near 2,565 at a minimum and repair the EMA death cross. Given current momentum, that’s unlikely to happen in just a day or two.

💰 Futures market: Funding rates and long/short ratios tell two different stories
$BTC has a funding rate of -0.0009%/8h, open interest of 7.73B USDT, 24h OI change of +0.4%, long/short account ratio of 1.44, and taker buy/sell ratio of 0.80. Slightly negative funding and a small increase in OI suggest bears have a slight advantage, while positions are gradually building. A taker buy/sell ratio of 0.80 means market sell orders outnumber market buy orders, so short-term longs aren’t crowded.

$ETH has a more negative funding rate of -0.0027%/8h, open interest of 5.81B USDT, 24h OI change of -1.2% as positions are being closed, a long/short account ratio of 2.94, and a taker buy/sell ratio of 0.94. There’s a clear contradiction here: retail traders are extremely bullish by account count (2.94), yet price is bearish across all three time frames and OI is still flowing out. This structure usually means longs are being gradually ground down, rather than shorts getting squeezed.
