BNB is a little quiet today.
BTC is up 0.28% and ETH 0.32%. Market breadth is 308 gainers to 176 decliners, with a median gain of 0.5%—overall, things are looking warm. What about BNB? It’s down 0.30%, hovering around $747.
This isn’t the first time BNB has lagged behind. Over the past few months, BNB has fallen about 38% from its high of $1,220 and has been trading within the $700–$850 range. Trading volume is also low: today’s 24-hour trading volume is just $38M, nearly 80 times less than BTC’s $3B.
So what does BNB still have going for it?
One solid fundamental is its quarterly burns. Binance uses profits to buy back and burn BNB every quarter, steadily reducing the circulating supply. In theory, supply is shrinking, so if demand holds steady, the price floor should gradually rise. But this narrative can be overshadowed by sentiment in a bear market and amplified in a bull market.
Another factor is BNB Chain itself. It currently ranks around fifth or sixth in TVL, with a bunch of new L2s gaining ground. Whether its ecosystem can deliver a new story is key to attracting fresh capital. So far, there haven’t been any particularly impressive metrics.
On the chart, $760–$780 is near-term resistance, while $720–$730 is support. Whether it can hold above $740 at today’s close is crucial—if it does, the bulls are still in the game; if it falls below $720, caution is warranted in the short term.
At $BNB , I’m inclined to wait and see: it’s not expensive, but there’s no clear catalyst either. The signals that would make it worth taking action are either a breakout above $780 on strong volume or a broad-based recovery in altcoin sentiment.
Do you think $BNB can catch up with the broader market this time?
