$CKB 15-minute contract open interest rose 8.07%; price rose 4.28% over the same period.
When I first got into the market, I always thought that rising open interest meant money was flowing in. It took me a while to understand: for every new position, someone is going long and someone is going short. An increase in open interest only means more positions are being held—it doesn’t mean there’s a net inflow of funds.
If open interest rises but spot buying doesn’t follow, the rally may be driven mainly by futures capital. This kind of move can rise quickly and reverse just as quickly.
It’s more reliable to look for confirmation across several indicators than to focus on just one, but even more indicators can’t give you a definitive answer.
