🇺🇸 U.S. TO BROADCAST EXECUTION OF FORT HOOD MASSACRE SHOOTER LIVE
⠀
The United States plans to livestream the execution of Nidal Hasan, the former Army major convicted of killing 13 people and injuring 32 others at the Fort Hood military base in 2009.
🎯 Hasan will be executed by firing squad on December 3 at the same base where he committed the massacre. It will be the first U.S. military execution since 1961 and the first by firing squad since 1945. :
📡 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the public will be able to watch because, in his view, people need to understand that there are serious consequences for these kinds of crimes. The Pentagon later confirmed that the execution will be livestreamed.
🏛️ Donald Trump confirmed that he personally approved the broadcast. The decision has drawn criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers, human rights organizations, and religious leaders, some of whom warn that turning an execution into a public spectacle could cross an unprecedented line in the United States.
