What’s the difference between one-way mode and hedge mode?
In one-way mode, you can only hold a position in one direction for each trading pair at a time. If you sell while holding a long position, the long position will be reduced first.
In hedge mode, you hold long and short positions of the same size at the same time. Gains and losses from price movements largely offset each other, but you still have to pay trading fees.
The most important thing to remember when managing positions: if you’re unfamiliar with hedge mode, sticking to one-way mode is less likely to cause confusion.
