The bears couldn’t push the price down here, so the bulls shouldn’t celebrate just yet.

$BTC has been moving sideways all day, from 82640 to 83173—a $600 range. Volume is only 600 million, clearly pretty low. Funding rate is -0.0009. Sell orders are more aggressive than buy orders, but neither side is making a move—both are waiting for a signal.

All the bullish sectors are small-cap coins: $LUMIA +78%, STRK +50%, MBL +47%. Moves like these look like project teams defending the price or communities pumping their coins. Chasing them will probably leave you catching a falling knife. NFP plunged 65%, while VIC fell 43%. Older coins can crash even harder than altcoins, which shows that risk appetite hasn’t returned to the market. Money is just rotating around and leaving retail traders holding the bag; this doesn’t feel like a bull market.

My take: over the next 1–2 days, $BTC will probably dip again and look for support around 82000. With the funding rate this negative, the bulls lack conviction. But don’t expect a major crash—the bears can’t move a market cap of 6 trillion either.

That’s the market right now: the majors are grinding sideways, small coins are doing their own thing, don’t chase the ones going up, and don’t buy the dip on the ones going down. Can the bulls hold on?
