Meme market: which moves first, leaders or small caps?

I only pay attention to memes when they have independent buying pressure; otherwise, I treat them as volatility.

For memes, first check whether the leaders have volume, then see whether the small caps dare to follow.

PEPE 0.00000402 (+0.00%), BONK 0.00000339 (-0.29%), DOGE 0.0855 (-0.83%), SHIB 0.0000054 (-1.46%)

For comparison: BTC 82978 (24h +0.40%).

PEPE is the strongest meme at +0.00%, but it hasn't outpaced BTC (+0.40%). If it hasn't pulled ahead, it's not a trend—just volatility.

BTC is still at 82978 (+0.40%). Until BTC breaks above 83,642, I consider any move in memes a right-side entry to be noise.

The trigger for memes is BTC: unless it breaks above 83173, I don't count gains in small caps as a sector-wide move.

Data: Binance Spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are left blank.
When memes aren't outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful note: A cross-chain bridge is not a wallet. If a bridge contract is compromised, assets are what get frozen first—not the narrative.
Inspiration: BTC fast-lane fees are rising: on-chain activity is there, while spot may be steadier than futures.
