A national-level policy document has mentioned blockchainโ€”and this time, it put it alongside the computing power network.
A relevant document issued by the central government and the State Council calls for building a national blockchain network and a nationwide integrated computing power network, as part of the broader push to develop new quality productive forces.
I find this pretty interesting.
In the past, when people heard โ€œblockchain,โ€ the first things that came to mind were Bitcoin, crypto speculation, and launching meme coins.
But what the country is now looking to promote is blockchain as part of the digital infrastructure, applied to practical use cases such as data circulation, industrial collaboration, supply chains, and trusted records.
Of course, thereโ€™s a major distinction here: government support for blockchain development does not mean crypto trading will be permitted, nor does it directly benefit every public-chain token.
The development focus domestically is more on industrial and consortium blockchain systems that meet regulatory requirements.
But in the long run, the fact that blockchain is increasingly being incorporated into infrastructure development is worth paying attention to in itself.
Smart contract platforms like $ETH, in particular, may prompt the market to revisit narratives around bringing assets on-chain, RWA, settlement, and on-chain finance.
That said, policy direction and rising token prices are two different things. Ultimately, it depends on specific projects, capital investment, and real-world applications.
The crypto world used to constantly claim that blockchain would change the world. Now the country is beginning to explore how to actually put blockchain to work in the real world.
As for whether this wave can drive a crypto market rally, letโ€™s first see if any projects are backed by real money and actually get off the ground.
Policy documents open up room for imagination; it takes capital to make a market rally happen.
