Trading Notes | Take-Profit and Stop-Loss
① A stop-loss that executes at market price once triggered is called a stop-market order. It is more likely to be filled, but significant slippage may occur in volatile markets.
② Stop-loss and take-profit orders are both conditional orders: they do not enter the order book until the preset trigger price is reached; only then is an order placed.
③ Once you have set a stop-loss, don’t move it farther away just because it is about to be triggered. This often turns a small loss into a large one.
