$BTC: Don’t just watch spot—derivatives costs are part of the pricing too.
Track prices, open interest, and funding costs separately, then assess whether they are moving in sync.
Finally, return to the upper and lower boundaries. The current interpretation only holds if price confirms it.
First, the positioning side: volume and derivatives readings are as follows: volume ratio 0.95, one-hour OI +0.25%, funding rate -0.0017%. Price, volume, and positioning have yet to move in sync in one direction, so for now it makes more sense to watch the range.
Next, the price side: this record is current through 12:15 Beijing time on October 11: Binance's $BTC was 82,858.92 USDT, while OKX read 82,866.40 over the same period. The short- and medium-term readings do not fully align: 15 minutes +0.05%, 1 hour -0.33%, 4 hours -0.20%.
Another interpretation is that both bulls and bears are reducing risk exposure. Public OI can show only the total change; it cannot identify which side is acting. 82,640.00 is the lower level to watch, and 83,173.29 is the upper confirmation level. A break above 83,173.29 is confirmed only if price retests it and holds; a move back below 82,640.00 invalidates the original view. Until these conditions play out, I’d treat this as position turnover, not a trend.
This is only an observation of public market data and does not constitute investment advice.
