BIP-110 may have been born with good intentions: to protect block space and keep Bitcoin focused on money. But good intentions aren't enough to change Bitcoin. The proposal failed to gain enough support, and its attempt to create an alternative chain didn't convince the network to follow it.
And that's the point. $BTC has no CEO or central authority that can impose changes on everyone. You can propose an idea, write the code, and be convinced you're right. But adoption can't be decreed: it has to be earned. Perhaps Bitcoin's greatest strength isn't how easy it is to change, but how hard it is to force others to change it. ₿
