🚨 A week of short sellers getting squeezed? Don’t rush to buy the dip!
Over the past week, Bitcoin slid from a high of $86,600 to $80,350. Liquidations topped $1 billion in a single day at one point, and exceeded $2.4 billion for the week, with more than 85% of them being long positions. Over the weekend, $BTC returned to around $83,000, but this looks more like an oversold bounce than a trend reversal.
The data is clear: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw nearly $680 million in net outflows over a consecutive week; the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed above 5.3%, and Brent crude broke through $104. The macro environment is anything but friendly to risk assets. $ETH has held up relatively well, but repeated back-and-forth moves around 2,500 show that investors are also hesitant.
Short-term view: $81,000 is key support; if it fails to hold, there could be another leg down. $84,400 is the ceiling for a rebound. The market may not choose a clear direction until the October 14 CPI data and the Fed’s late-October policy meeting. After a steep drop, a bounce is perfectly normal—don’t mistake a rebound for a reversal.
