Quick Guide: Native Coins and Tokens
Transferring any token on-chain requires paying gas fees in that chain’s native coin. If your address doesn’t hold any native coin, you won’t be able to make the transfer.
The same token often exists on multiple chains, and its contract address differs from one chain to another.
Keep a small amount of the chain’s native coin in your address to cover gas fees, so your tokens don’t get stuck and become impossible to transfer.
$ETH is Ethereum’s native coin. Any token transfers on Ethereum require $ETH to pay gas fees.
