🤔 Is an AI financial advisor really a “wealth multiplier”? Why does it think you have money?

According to CoinDesk, many AI bots can now manage your crypto wallet, but they have a “hidden feature”—if there’s money in your account, they may start pitching you more services. For example, if you hold 82.55K worth of BTC, the AI may assume you’re wealthy and suggest that you allocate more assets. Worse, they can access your other financial data and use it to market services to you, with the same precision as the shopping apps on your phone. The root of the problem is that these AIs are trained on big data and know which kinds of transactions can get you to spend more. It’s like retailers placing all their sale items along the path you have to take. Why is this impact neutral for BTC and ETH? Because this isn’t a systemic market risk, but rather a behavioral pattern of specific AI products. What does this mean? It won’t change the broader trend in the short term, but if you use these kinds of services, be especially cautious.

💡 This behavior pattern will persist as long as AI continues to rely on learning from user behavior to “make money.” This assessment would no longer apply if regulations were introduced requiring AI to fully disclose all its recommendations and actions.
