$KAIA This drop wasn’t especially sharp, but the structure is pretty interesting—price moved lower, and OI fell along with it. Open interest in 1h contracts dropped 1.35%, with notional down by over 400K. This doesn’t look like shorts adding positions to drive the price down; it looks more like longs pulling out first, either through stop-losses or deliberate position cuts.

15m volume rose to 3.56x, the taker trade delta was -13.6%, and the buy/sell ratio was 0.76, so selling pressure was definitely tilted to the downside. The close also broke below the lows of the last 20 or so 5m candles. Volume was there, and so was the direction, but the move lacked much force: a 1.3% drop on that volume suggests there were plenty of buyers stepping in too.

The notional change across the entire pool ranked #32, at the 69th anomaly percentile. That’s not extreme, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. In a deleveraging-style drop like this, if OI keeps shrinking and price can hold near the bottom of the range, a rebound may actually be more likely. But if volume keeps rising and OI continues to fall, then people are really heading for the exits.

For now, just keep watching—no need to rush into a trade.
