The $19.1 billion tuition bill, one year later.

At 5 a.m. on this day a year ago, it was dropping nearly 1% per minute for $BTC 30 minutes. At 5:19, that one minute wiped out nearly $5,000, with a wick down to 102,000; the market fell 12% that day. Trump announced the resumption of the trade war, and $19.156 billion was liquidated in 24 hours, wiping out 1.6 million traders. $ETH and $SOL plunged right along with it.

That wick swept out the high-leverage positions in one go. The liquidation orders stacked around 102,000 still haven’t been fully absorbed. If the price gets close to that area again, long leverage will start piling up all over again. It’s only a matter of time before volatility picks up.

Did you catch that wick down to 102,000 with a buy order, or get buried by it? Share your entry price.
