【Market Update】Long-established crypto company Blockchain.com is submitting two license applications to the U.S. CFTC, and plans to launch prediction markets and crypto derivatives trading in the United States.

According to CNBC, the company has applied for a Designated Contract Market (DCM) license to operate a regulated futures exchange, while also applying to register as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) to provide event contract and derivatives brokerage services to retail and institutional clients.

CEO Peter Smith said the goal is to let users manage digital assets, trade derivatives, and participate in event-based markets on a single platform. However, submitting an application does not mean it will be approved.
