Ledger’s investigation into a batch of devices from Southeast Asian distributor CryptoBilis has moved forward: at least one device has been confirmed to contain an unauthorized hardware implant.
The company says its own systems weren’t compromised, but it has asked the distributor to stop sales. The estimated on-chain losses are around $80 million, though the figure hasn’t been confirmed. If you bought from them in the past 90 days, don’t initialize the device. If you’ve already used one, consider replacing your seed phrase.
