Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is investigating a major crypto theft. On-chain researchers estimate that between $72 million and $86 million was stolen in the incident. Most of the affected users had purchased their devices from an officially authorized distributor in Southeast Asia. Ledger said there is currently no evidence that its own systems or services were compromised, but many users have posted about their losses on X, and the company’s official customer support account has confirmed that it is investigating the matter.
