Knowledge Card: Perpetual and Delivery Contracts
Delivery contracts have no funding fees. The price difference between a contract and the spot price is called the basis. As expiration approaches, the basis usually moves closer to zero.
Binance delivery contracts are divided into quarters. The two common types are “Current Quarter” and “Next Quarter,” referring to the quarter in which they expire.
When holding a perpetual contract long-term, include accumulated funding fees in your cost—don’t look only at price movements.
