Bitcoin targets $100,000 with $4.5 billion in call options
Traders have concentrated $4.5 billion in bitcoin call options between $90,000 and $100,000, with an expiry date of October 30. This buildup reflects renewed interest in a BTC rally, but does not represent a unanimous market forecast.
Traders have concentrated $4.5 billion in Bitcoin call options expiring on October 30.
The main targets are $90,000, $95,000 and $100,000, with a heavy concentration at $95,000.
These amounts represent the notional value of the contracts, not the sums actually invested.
Despite traders’ optimism, the $78,000 level remains a cautionary signal.
Without a sufficient rise in Bitcoin’s price, many options could expire worthless on October 30.
Traders are targeting three price levels for bitcoin
Bitcoin is trading around $83,000 after recovering some of the ground it lost earlier this month. In the options market, call contracts now account for 60.24% of open interest, compared with 39.76% for put options.
The October 30 expiry accounts for a large share of these positions. Deribit, the sector’s leading platform, has recorded the equivalent of 25,030 BTC in call options with a strike price of $95,000. Their notional value is close to $2.07 billion.
