Nasdaq and BTC: there’s something going on with their correlation today

Let’s go through the US stock numbers first, then decide whether crypto follows.

For technical levels, I’m using today’s high and low—not forcing old support levels onto the chart.

VIX 14.84 (5-day -4.38%)
Dow 51,655 (5-day +0.93%, Yahoo)

BTC 24h high 83083 / low 82286, current price 83063. The Nasdaq is up +0.64% over 5 days, lagging the S&P 500 at +1.15%. Growth stocks are falling behind. Chasing AI coins now means taking on the beta that US equities have already started dumping.

ETH +0.84%, outperforming BTC at +0.47%; exchange rate 0.03019. That looks like risk appetite spilling over—not BTC acting alone.

VIX is now at 14.84. If it moves above 18, I’ll cut my futures position in half. I’m not going to argue with the US closing price.

My position: sitting on the sidelines. Price hasn’t picked a direction, leverage hasn’t paid off, and opening a position now would be working for the exchange.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M futures / Yahoo daily data (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers stay missing.
If memes aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Takeaway: During earnings season, listen to guidance—not the CEO’s vision for next year.
Inspiration: If funding turns positive and the long-short ratio is >1.15, note that the trade is crowded first; don’t write “chase the rally.”

For context: people elsewhere are discussing “bitcoin OR stock market OR US stocks” on Google News. I’m treating that as background only; the conclusion is still based on the numbers in the main text.

Personal opinion; figures are from the sources listed in the main text. This is not a trading instruction.
