That’s freaking wild! 😂
Claude banned a whopping 11.4 million accounts in six months!
Anthropic’s latest transparency report revealed that in the first half of 2026:
🔹 Accounts banned: 11.4 million
🔹 Appeals received: 398,000
🔹 Bans overturned: only 42,000
That means only about 10.6% of appeals resulted in a ban being overturned.
And somehow, I was one of those 42,000 lucky users. 🤣
So why was I banned?
The reasons listed by Anthropic include violating its usage policies, Terms of Service, and regional availability policies.
Even wilder, the report also revealed another set of figures:
In just the first half of the year, Anthropic submitted 15,079 reports to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Of those:
▪️ 12,614 reports involved known child sexual abuse material identified through hash matching.
▪️ 2,018 reports involved related material that had not previously been confirmed, identified through machine learning.
▪️ 193 reports involved other risks, including grooming, human trafficking, and imminent danger to minors.
The report also covered government data requests, user self-harm risks, and monitoring for malicious use.
After reading this report, I finally understand:
When using Claude these days, the most stressful thing might not be running out of usage—it’s having your account disappear before you’ve even used it all. 😂
Opening Claude every day feels like opening a mystery box.
How many of you have had your Claude account banned? 🤣
