Bloomberg Intelligence senior insurance equity analyst Matthew Palazola told Bloomberg This Weekend that Hurricane Isaias could produce insured losses in the single-digit billions of dollars.

He said stronger Florida building codes may limit damage even as property values rise, and added that two relatively mild hurricane seasons have helped insurers rebuild capital. Palazola also said recent Florida insurance reforms have improved market conditions but have not yet faced a major test, according to Bloomberg.
