① A hardware wallet is a dedicated signing device. Private keys are generated and stored on the device, and are generally never transmitted in plaintext.
② When signing with a hardware wallet, your computer or phone only creates and broadcasts the transaction; the signing itself takes place inside the device.
③ If the device comes with a pre-existing recovery phrase, don't use it. Contact the brand's official support to verify.
