Anza CEO Brennan Watt opened a discussion in the Solana Improvement Documents repository on October 10 (UTC+8), proposing that after mainnet switched to 200 ms block times on October 9, the per-block compute unit limit be gradually restored from its current level of about 50 million CU to 100 million CU in five steps. The proposed steps are 60 million, 70 million, 80 million, 90 million, and 100 million CU. Only the total block CU limit would change; parameters such as block shreds and the per-account CU limit would not be increased for now.

The discussion is still at the idea stage: no formal SIMD proposal has been submitted, and no activation date or client version has been specified. Restoring the 100 million CU limit at 200 ms block times would roughly double the amount of computation that can be packed into a given period compared with the current level. The $SOL ecosystem has just completed a halving of its block interval, and the community is also watching how capacity might recover. This is a discussion of protocol capacity, not yield arrangements.
