Here’s the formula used by people who don’t lose when copy trading. Save it.

*How to choose a good trader in 1 minute — 7-point checklist:*

When you see a leader, check these:

*1. Copy traders’ PnL is GREEN and high*
If it’s negative (-444), run. It means they’re making money and you’re losing it. It should be at least +$1,000.

*2. MDD under 20%*
MDD is the most they’ve ever lost. If you see a high one, they could cut your account in half. Look for under 15% ideally; under 20% is acceptable.

*3. Sharpe above 1.5*
- 0.36 = bad, pure luck
- 1.10 = average
- 3.14 and 4.30 = professional (like the last two you sent me)

If the Sharpe is below 1, don’t copy them.

*4. More than 90 days and more than 100 trades*
- 6 trades with 100% wins = fake
- 222 or 462 trades = a real track record

Always filter by 90D or 180D, not 7D or 30D. Anyone can get lucky over 30 days.

*5. ROI between 20% and 150% (over 90D)*
- 1,787% in 30D = 100x leverage; you’re going to get liquidated
- 13% to 50% in 30D = healthy and sustainable

The people who promise to make you a millionaire fast are the ones who’ll make you go broke fast.

*6. High personal balance*
- $182 of their own money = they’re gambling with your money
- $139,565 of their own money = they’re gambling with their own money and don’t want to lose

Look for a balance that’s at least 50% of their AUM.

*7. Few copiers, not full*
If they have 711/800, they’re at capacity. You’ll get in late and experience slippage—that’s why you end up thinking, “They’re making money, but I’m losing.” Look for between 10/200 and 100/200. You’ll get in on time.
