Your device displays a long string of characters you can’t understand and asks you to sign it. Should you?
The risk of signing is this: the blockchain only checks whether the signature is valid. It doesn’t ask whether the person signing understood what they were signing.
Many hardware wallets don’t allow blind signing by default. If you encounter a contract call the device can’t parse, you’ll need to enable the relevant setting.
In crypto, the most costly thing has never been transaction fees—it’s the price you pay for not understanding the rules.
Treat any “technical support” that contacts you out of the blue as suspicious. Official support will never ask for your recovery phrase.
