Tether has frozen millions of dollars in USDT linked to a large-scale theft targeting Ledger wallet users. More than 300 wallets were drained, with total losses nearing $90 million. The attack is believed to have resulted from the compromise of hardware devices sold through a regional distributor.
To avoid the freeze, the hacker quickly converted millions of USDT into other tokens, such as USDD. Ledger has suspended sales through its resellers, and experts advise recent buyers to immediately set up new security keys.
