The Nasdaq CEO says tokenization could unlock tens of billions of dollars in capital that is currently locked up.

There’s one story in the industry today that deserves a closer look.

Things in crypto fall into two categories: some make a splash for a day and then fade, while others change how money is structured.

There’s just one way to tell them apart: do they change who holds the cards, and who the money moves from and to?

Exchange and security-related developments affect trust. ETFs and tokenization affect access. When access changes, that’s when volume can really shift.

Market snapshot.

BTC 82,814, up 0.34% in 24 hours. ETH up 0.73%.

Fear index: 64.

Funding rate: -0.0015%.

I’m not sure whether this counts as a signal, but I’ll make a note of it.

On the day the news came out, sentiment swung much more than the price itself.

I usually let it play out for two days, then check whether the funding rate and trading volume have moved along with it.

If neither number follows, the news fizzles out once the excitement is over. It’s not worth changing my position for.

For now, I’m watching just one thing: trading volume.
