🚨 Reports indicate that approximately $86 million in crypto has been stolen from Ledger cold wallets. This was not a widespread attack, but one targeting a specific set of wallets.

Initially, there were rumors that the incident involved phishing. However, there are now indications that it may be linked to a Ledger retailer, as Ledger has just issued a statement:

“Ledger is investigating reports of asset losses by users in Southeast Asia who purchased devices through the retailer CryptoBillis.

As a precaution while the investigation is underway, we have asked CryptoBillis to temporarily suspend all sales and delivery of Ledger devices.

We recommend that anyone who purchased a Ledger from this retailer in the past 90 days:

If you have not set up your device, do not proceed with the setup.
If you have already set it up and used it, consider transferring all your assets to a new Ledger device with a completely new 24-word recovery phrase (seed phrase).

Ledger will continue to share updates as the investigation progresses.” #ledger
