$BTC ETF flows turned positive, while $ETH continued to see outflows, with capital flows diverging during this recovery.
On October 10 Beijing time, Binance’s price page showed $BTC at 82,781 USD at 20:44 and $ETH at 2,493 USD at 19:09. Both remained below the 83,000 and 2,500 USD levels, respectively.
U.S. spot ETF data for Friday has been updated:
$BTC saw net inflows of 21.1 million USD, ending a two-day streak of net outflows.
$ETH saw net outflows of 56.1 million USD, marking nine consecutive trading days of net outflows.
However, looking at October 5–9, $BTC and $ETH still saw net outflows of 678.9 million and 542.2 million USD, respectively, for the week. A single day of positive flows is an improving signal, but not enough to reverse the week’s overall outflows.
On Friday, the S&P 500 rose 0.59% and the Nasdaq gained 0.64%, but the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield remained around 5.24%. The stock market’s recovery supports risk appetite, while high interest rates continue to raise the opportunity cost of holding crypto assets.
My take: ETF demand for $BTC is showing signs of recovery first, while $ETH remains under capital pressure. Going forward, watch whether ETF inflows continue, whether the two assets can hold above the levels noted above, and whether Treasury yields fall.
On the next trading day, will capital continue flowing back into $BTC , or will $ETH begin to catch up?
