#Tips for copy trading#
*1. Start with just $20–$50*
That’s your learning money. Don’t put in $1,000.
*2. How to choose a trader (the most important part)*
Don’t choose the #1 trader in the rankings. Choose like this:
- *Profit:* Between 30% and 150% over 90 days. If it’s 800%, they’re taking too much risk.
- *MDD (Max Drawdown):* Less than 25%. That’s the most they’ve lost. If their drawdown is 60%, they could wipe out your account.
- *Trading history:* More than 180 days. If they’ve only been trading for 20 days, it could just be luck.
- *They shouldn’t have lots of losing open trades.* If you see 10 trades at -40%, don’t copy them.
*3. Safer settings*
When you tap Copy, set it up like this:
- Copy current positions: *NO* (so you don’t enter at a high price)
- Use a fixed amount, not a multiplier. For example: $20 per copy.
- Stop Loss: Set it to 30%—if you lose 30% of that $20, it will close automatically.
- Leverage: If you copy futures trades, use a maximum of x3 or x5. No x50 or x100.
*4. The rule of 3*
Never copy just one trader. Copy 3 different traders with $20 each. If one fails, the others can save you.
*5. Right now, with the market at 60 on the Greed Index*
Don’t be aggressive. When the market is greedy, people buy at the top. Wait for it to drop to 50–55, neutral territory, before copying. You’ll get a better entry price.
