【Market Brief】One year after the flash crash: liquidity in $BTC and $ETH has recovered, while altcoins are still bleeding.

On this day one year ago, Bitcoin plunged $17,000 in a single day, liquidating $19 billion in leveraged positions. Today, order book depth has surpassed levels on the day of the crash: on October 7, bids and asks within 1% of BTC’s market price totaled about $11.7 million, up 75% from a year ago. The divergence remains: altcoin liquidity has shrunk, with weekly spot trading volume still nearly two-thirds lower than during the liquidation week.
