$TAO 24h up 2.87%, currently at 283.4. BTC is down 0.56% over the same period, so TAO is moving against the broader market. Gate perpetuals hit a daily high of 284.9 and a low of 270.3, with a range of about 5.4% and 24h volume of around 7.06 million U.

Market action: At around 3 a.m., roughly 500k U in selling pushed the price down to the daily low of 270.3, after which it climbed steadily. At noon it was still at 277.5. From 1 to 2 p.m., about 580k U lifted it from 277.5 to 281.2. At 4 and 5 p.m., two consecutive hourly candles pushed it up to 283.8 and 284.9. It touched the daily high at 5 p.m. and hasn't broken above it since. It's now at 283.4, and trading volume in the 8 p.m. hour is almost zero—no one's chasing it.

Why: The funding rate is +0.0024% (4h), and longs aren't crowded, so the rise isn't being driven by piled-on leverage. BTC is hovering around 82,800, while TAO is climbing on its own volume. But it hasn't broken above 284.9 with volume, so there's resistance overhead.

My trade: I'm not chasing longs. If it pulls back to 282–282.5, I'll take a small long position, with a stop at 280.8. First target is 284.9; if it breaks above that on strong volume, next target is 287. If it falls below 280.8, I'll admit I'm wrong and exit.
