What does a surge in volume actually mean? Trading volume refers to how much of a coin was traded over a period of time, while trading value converts that amount into the quote currency. The multiple in the post compares this period with the average over an earlier period.
When trading volume rises at a low price and the price stops falling, some people see it as a sign that buyers are stepping in—but this still needs to be confirmed by subsequent price action.
Any data only summarizes past movements; the price could just as easily move in the opposite direction.
