Bottom line: NEAR funding rates are moving in opposite directions on the two exchanges. Binance longs are paying, while on OKX it’s shorts paying. Looking at just one side can easily lead you to the wrong conclusion.
Binance’s latest funding rate is +0.009058%, which works out to an annualized rate of about 9.9% based on 8-hour settlements. Longs are subsidizing shorts. OKX perpetuals, meanwhile, are at -0.0006288%, so shorts are paying longs instead, at an annualized rate of about -0.69%.
This isn’t a one-way signal of “crowded longs across the market” or “shorts collecting funding.” It looks more like positions have diverged across exchanges. If you’re trading NEAR futures, check the exchange you’re placing your order on—don’t use another exchange’s funding rate as a substitute.
