More than $86 million is believed to have been drained from hundreds of wallets linked to devices sold by CryptoBilis, a Ledger reseller in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
What we know:
๐น Ledger has ordered all CryptoBilis sales and shipments to be suspended
๐น Bought one there in the last 90 days? DO NOT set up the device
๐น Already activated it? Consider moving your funds to a new Ledger with a new recovery phrase
๐น Tether has already frozen USDT linked to the case
Ledger says its systems were not compromised. A supply chain attack is suspected, but this has not yet been confirmed.
๐ก Lesson: buy hardware wallets only from the official website and NEVER use a seed phrase that comes with the device. Self-custody only protects you if the source is trustworthy.
