VIB just put on a literal high-altitude skydive for me today. According to Binance live data, it’s down 63% in 24 hours, trading at just 0.002 yuan, with a trading volume of 380,000 U. This isn’t just taking a loss—it’s getting ground down to the bone, folks.

BETA and PYR decided to join the party too, down 64% and 57% respectively. The altcoin market looks just like a barbecue stall at closing time: skewers all over the ground, and nobody picking them up.

Jokes aside, this plunge is most likely tied to the recent tightening of liquidity across the broader market. The Nasdaq is up 0.3%, but all the money is flowing into major assets and gold. XAU is already at 2,360. Altseason? More like an altcoin funeral.

Old crypto hands probably remember VIB. It had its moment in the sun back in the day, but now it’s looking like this. Either it’s a sign the team is about to bail, or it’s a total shakeout. I’m leaning toward the latter, since there’s still trading volume, which means someone’s buying. But whether they’re catching bloodied chips or shit-covered chips is for you to figure out.

In the short term, a drop this steep is bound to prompt a rebound, but don’t get carried away—altcoin bounces are just your chance to get out alive. Long term? First, you need to make it through tonight. WTI crude is already at 82, inflationary pressure is still there, and expectations for Fed rate cuts keep getting pushed back. Things will only get tougher for altcoins.
