🚨 31.2% of Bitcoin’s supply is held in addresses with exposed public keys!

An analysis shared by Glassnode shows:
📌 4.33 million $BTC are associated with address reuse.
📌 A total of 6.26 million BTC have exposed public keys.
📌 About 1.1 million BTC associated with Satoshi are held in legacy P2PK outputs.
Worth noting: reusing addresses can reduce privacy and make assets easier to track. Some older address types also have security characteristics that should be assessed separately.
⚠️ But don’t get the wrong idea: an exposed public key does not mean Bitcoin can be stolen immediately. The risk depends on the address type, cryptography, and technological developments.
🔐 Where do you prefer to keep your BTC: on an exchange, in a hot wallet, or in a self-custody cold wallet?
