A critical vulnerability that had existed since 2015 was disclosed in the XRP Ledger. A bug in the payment mechanism could have allowed someone to create $XRP more tokens than the 100-billion limit and spend them.
The bug was found on September 22, and a fix was released on September 25 in version 3.4.1. There is no evidence of exploitation, and no one lost funds.
